Learning outcomes

By the end of this module we hope that you will be able to:

discuss the large body of evidence describing the association between violence in a small but significant group of those with mental illness

describe the static and dynamic risk factors which are known to contribute to this association

utilise the contemporary risk assessment tools available to assist clinicians in identifying those at high risk of violence

put clinical management interventions into practice in order to assist in reducing violence.
